Codigo has uncorked a lot of limited-edition releases, though none have impressed us quite as much as its Cowboys and Dreamers Añejo. Aged for two years in French white oak barrels previously used to mature Napa Valley cabernet wine, the tequila tastes like Valentine's Day chocolates in a bottle. Hints of baking spice, apple pie, stewed plums, and cacao nibs dominate the aroma, followed by flavors of cherry, vanilla, macadamia nuts, raspberry, and cloves.
